What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small data file we save on your IT equipment, for example your computer or tablet.
The purpose is to recognize your equipment and by that observe how you use our homepage.
A cookie is a passive file, and it cannot collect any information that is stored on your computer, nor spread viruses or other malicious software.
Some cookies are only saved on your equipment for as long as you keep your browser open, so-called session cookies. Other cookies are saved on your equipment for a longer period of time, so-called persistent cookies When you return to a homepage, the cookie is automatically renewed.
Often, cookies from other parties than the one who owns the homepage are saved (third-party cookies). It could be regular cookies, but also analytical tools and embedded commentary fields.
Cookies remember, for example, what you have put in the shopping basket, if you have visited the page before, if you are signed in, and in which language you prefer seeing the homepage. We use the following types of cookies on axel-store.com
Axel, as the first party, places four types of session cookies, which expire when you close the browser. Their purposes are:
- To recognize your IT equipment.
- To remember your choice of language.
- To register the time period you spend on the homepage.
- Identify your http-inquiries when you navigate around on axel-store.com
As the first party we also place four types of persistent cookies, which are stored between 30 days and 2 years. They register:
- How many times you have visited the homepage.

How to reject and remove your cookies
How you remove or avoid having cookies placed on your IT equipment depends on your browser. You should however be aware that if you remove or reject cookies, there are several functions and services you can no longer use, because they require the homepage to remember the choices you make. If you use several different browsers, you should also remember to change your cookie settings for all of them.
If you use a PC with a newer browser, you can remove your cookies by using the keyboard shortcut: [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [Delete]. If the shortcut does not work, and/or if you use a Mac, you can use these links for the browser(s) you are using:
